Let’s get right to it. Here are some examples of my work. They are just stock images that I retouched for show. Things To Know:

I only work with the same photographers/Studios. I rarely take one-time clients. I am like your employee, without having to pay a full-time employee. I currently work with 8 studios. I fill up to 10 then I am full. I recently have had two studios that closed down because of Covid, or personal reasons. I work with these studios daily. They send me all their images, and we only talk when they have a special request or just chit-chat. I say this because I have been working with them for over 5 years and some over 8. They like me, and I like them. We have a good thing going.
Starting off, it may seem to be a rocky road as we adjust to each other. But after a few sets and a few redo’s, it is smooth sailing from there.
Although most of the studios I work with are boudoir studios, 2 are family photographers. They have huge studios and a significant number of clients, just like the boudoir studios. I retouch everything from newborns to families to boudoir.
As a photography studio owner/operator for 7 years, I know what you need and that is why the studios I work with love me. I take care of them as they take care of me by using me exclusively. As I said, we scratch each other’s backs (not literally).
My pay scale is low compared to others for one reason, I want you business. When I get all your business regularly, I don’t need to charge extremely high prices. But I am a one-person show and I might get behind when all studios send massive amounts of sets for retouching. But that is rare and the reason I only take on up to 10 studios.
I take pride in my work. I take pride in your work. I consider the studios I work with my friends and I take care of my friends.

The above before and after image of Anna is an example of a basic retouch provided by 4K Retouch. On Anna, we removed the acne, stray hairs, removed the redness from the whites of her eyes, and knocked down the shine on her skin. This is a 2 on our 1-3 scale meaning we did the average of what is available. A level 1 would have included acne removal and hair cleanup and slight skin-softening if requested. a 3 on the scale would have included a more dramatic look that is usually only used in boudoir images where your client requests a heavier retouch removing cellulite, skin folds, etc, and body shaping/contouring. You dictate the level of retouch for each set of images according to your style or your client’s requests.

Above is an image of Ms. S that has 3 levels of retouching. Stages 1, 2, and 3. While there a very few blemishes, I find them by working at 100% zoom. Level one has a few blemishes removed and some skin softening performed. Level two has the same blemishes and light skin softening as the first with additional “blemishes” fixed per client request. The lines on her deriere are removed and shadows are evened out slightly to reduce dark spots that would indicate a less than perfect physique, whether that is true or not. Retouch level three has all the same work as the first two levels with additional skin work and reshaping that is often requested. I perform the work according to directions and growing knowledge of what your personal photography style is. The more we work together, the more I adapt to what you request and how you shoot. That is priceless.

Ms. J is another stock photo that I have retouched to show examples of the 3 levels of retouching. Of course, these levels will be adjusted to your style and preference and aren’t set in stone, per se. For example, the cellulite can be removed leaving the shadows “as is” and not adjusted to my interpretation of where they would be given different circumstances (no cellulite to begin with, lighting adjustments, etc). For example, you may want me to reduce the cellulite keeping it slightly more realistic. This just needs to be stated when sending your order. Plus, I will learn your preferences as we work together more. When there is this much work needed, some skin texture is lost during the retouching, then placed back via photoshop.
